Looking for a fun way to reach out to your community, bring people into your business, raise money for charity, or create school and community spirit? We have 40+ fabulous ideas!

1. Chamber of Commerce – Host a preseason breakfast for team and parents, during which, every mom is presented a book donated by area businesses.

2. Community Service Organizations – Coordinate with the football coaches a “Night Under the Lights” for the youth and/or families during which they can rotate from one activity station to another and interact with their varsity role models.

3. Booster Club – Buy and sell the books and give the team the proceeds, donate them to the team for them to sell, or sponsor a coach/team-conducted clinic for mom, letting the team make a profit from sales and event fees.

4. Team Sponsor – Present as a gift to team moms to commemorate a special event, such as the first season of football at a new school.

5. Churches – Invite the football team to be recognized during a church service and provide a book for each mom.

6. Business/Organization - Sponsor a preseason tailgate party/pep assembly. As the players are introduced, have them present books to their moms.

7. Multiple businesses – Host a Football Moms’ Jamboree and donate money raised through book sales to a charity such as the Special Olympics, or Autism organization. Invite area football moms to a day of fun and pampering. Conduct it like a free-range bazaar or ladies can choose from a list of activities and pre-enroll. Also another opportunity to give a book to the first 50 or so who pre-enroll. Suggestions for offerings: Referees - program on rules and safety; Coaches – run moms through a football simulation; Professional Photographer – give tips on taking good sports shots; Event Planner or Home Décor Store Owner – football party “tablescapes”, supplies and ideas; Skin Care Professional – spa treatment to prepare skin for weather exposure; Local Radio Station – provide music, entertainment and publicity; Bakery or Caterer – serve lunch and refreshments; College/University Coaches – offer as part of the youth football camp package, one book to each participant to give to his mom.

8. Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle – Sell and raise money for a community outreach project or to send to a new huddle starting up in another school.

9. Pop Warner/Youth Leagues -  Raise money to pay for background checks for coaches and referees, package together with a team t-shirt and charge $30 (+/ -).

10. Dentists – Give to moms with the purchase of a custom-fitted mouth guard.

11. Doctors and Chiropractors – give to moms at time of sports physical.

12. Business – Sell during a business promotion to raise money and awareness for a favorite charity.

13. Football Equipment Sales Representatives – Throw in a set of books when coach buys a large ticket item. The team can turn around and sell the books to replenish some of their budget.

14. Scrapbooking Direct Sales Consultants – Invite clients to a preseason Scrapping Session to make football scrapbook pages. Advertise the incentive:  The first 20 moms who enroll, or moms who enroll before such-and-such date get a free book. Sell more books during the actual event.

15. New Businesses – Invite football moms from nearby schools to visit your shop or business.  Those who wear their son’s jersey get a book at half-price. Those who wear their son’s jersey AND bring a friend from out of town, get a free book.

16. Church Mission Groups – Meet for a tailgating party near the stadium gate, with approval, of course. Offer bottles of cold water or hot hand packets as a ministry and sell the book to raise money for missions.

17. Family/Friends – Raise money to fund a scholarship in honor of a loved one.

18. Car Dealerships – Give a book to everyone who test drives a car or to everyone who comes in for an oil change wearing school colors/mascot.

19. Ministerial Alliances – Donate to football families as an outreach to schools, perhaps in conjunction with Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

20. Boutiques – Offer at half-price with a $75 (+/-) purchase of winter wear or “pocketbook”.

21. Private Schools – Give in return for a donation of $25 (+/-) to raise money for program expenses.

22. Private Schools/Youth Leagues – Use money from book sales to provide scholarships to those whose parents have come into financial distress.

23. Barber Shops – Sell to clientele to pass along to moms and wives and donate a portion of the profits to the new press box fund.

24. Booster Clubs – Sell the book at the concession stand.

25. Football Teams – Sell the book and then later charge admission to your annual Football Quiz Bowl between moms and sons.

26. Private Schools – Sell the book and then later host (for a free will donation) on neutral ground a Football Quiz Bowl between the parents of two schools. The winner could be the one with the highest score, the largest turn-out or the one whose jar ends up with more money.

27. Conference Rivals – Same concept, but pitting moms against moms.

28. Newspaper/Sports Publications – Offer the book with a new yearly subscription.

29. Sporting Goods Shops – Give with the purchase of new cleats or a $150 purchase, or…

30. Band booster clubs – Beef up the value of the book by working with community businesses to design coupons and then sell the book with coupons in front pocket at a higher price.

31. Sororities – Sell during homecoming or moms’ weekend and donate $2 per book to Breast Cancer Research. Keep the rest of the proceeds for other needs.

32. NFL Wives – Sell to raise money for a Safe House for women and children.

33. Coaches’ Wives Groups – Give as a gift in return for a $25 donation to a cause.

34. Corporation and TV Station – Give a book to moms donating a certain number of nonperishable food items, a blanket, or a coat for their community service projects.

35. Football Programs – Give to the first 100 to sign up for your annual “Texas Hold ‘em” Tournament, or in return for contributing an item for your sports auction fundraiser.

36. Florists – Advertise Mothers’ Day promotion: Sons can send balloons tied to a wrapped book.

37. Photographers – Sell when taking youth team pictures and give half of the profit back to the program.

38. Pizzeria – Promotion: Give a book with $40 (+/-) take-out order on the first “Monday Night Football” game.

39. Salons – Offer at half-price for clients receiving a new cut and color.

40. Bundle together with a plush toy football, team onesie, and baby sneakers to make a fun baby boy shower gift for a team fan.
